Hey Dan, thanks for this, I just spent a happy afternoon having a go at this and and really enjoyed it. Well something similar TBH. I don't have any wax crayons so I used a tea light that my wife buys from Ikea, and she's Chinese so she has ink, but only red and black, and a Typhoon is blowing through so no going to the art shop. Nevertheless, I really liked what I created. I did try wet watery acrylic and some of my wife's watercolours, but didn't like the result. But I like how the ink works. I think I mentioned before that as I'm in China one of the influences is the wet ink work of the Chinese artists so a double bonus for me here. Thanks again, I do enjoy watching your videos and they inspire me so much. Pity I can't post an image here for you to have a look at. I'll be in the UK Monday so Ill be getting some wax crayons you can be sure. Best wishes.

And coincidentally watching it today 5 years later 20th July. Great work - gonna try it myself later - interesting to see you were inspired by Chinese scrolls. I live in China and my art has been influenced by the various Chinese styles, I love the freedom of the Chinese Ink Work which is also part of doing this monoprinting, I think, which as mentioned before has taken my art in a new direction. Thank you.

I love your work, what I wonder is how do you work with charcoal and appear so untouched by the messiness of the medium? Tell me please, I use charcoal...I am a mess and my clothes and my paper.

I've come to your latest post from the ones from a while ago to thank you for these videos, Im so glad I tripped over them and found them. You have given me a new impetus to my art. I live and work in China so RUclips is a godsend. I been attempting to do some monoprints and it has turned out to be messy fun and I'm really liking what I have been producing. I have even bought some oil paint after being an avid acrylic painter for so long to see if the oil (as you use it) give me a different perspective on the technique. Anyway thanks for the inspiration.
